Årets hardcore-album kommer fra Ruiner.
“Hell is Empty” er et lyskespark av gammaldags rask hardcore, og mer nedtonet intens, melodiøs og roligere post-hardcore.
Gammelfansen er ikke overbevist av sistnevnte retningsskifte, men det er jeg. Det er den nye retningen, kombinert med Rob Sullivans intense og desperate vokal som gjør Ruiner til noe mer enn bare et fett og brutalt hardcore-orkester.
Det funker som faen for å si det på en veldig moden og akademisk måte, og minner en del om både Have Heart og fjorårets komet, Verse.
